Privacy Policy

INTRODUCTION

CNG Law is a UK solicitors practice offering a range of legal services to businesses, private individuals and other solicitors.

I, Christopher Green am a sole practitioner and I am the “Data Controller” in respect of the information gathered and processed by CNG Law.

Part of my business involves the collection and management of client and non-client data and, in doing so, I observe the UK data protection legislation, and am committed to protecting and respecting clients’ and non-clients’ privacy and rights subject to my overriding professional responsibilities and duties as an officer of the Supreme Court.

This privacy notice (also known as a Fair Processing Notice or FPN), describes the ways in which I collect, manage, process, store and share information about you as a result of you being our client or visiting this website. The privacy notice also provides you with information about how you can have control over the use of your data.

You can request access to all the data I hold about you, make a change to it, remove it or restrict how it’s used. To do this, you may use the contact form on this website or write to: CNG Law, Pond House, Foxhunt Green, Waldron, Heathfield, East Sussex TN21 0RU.

Why I Collect your Information:

I collect information about you to:

  1. Respond to enquiries, represent you as a solicitor, receive information about you from third parties and you provide you with services by telephone, email, written correspondence or face-to-face.
  2. Bill and obtain payment for work done or on account of work to take place.
  3. Deal with any complaints you may have.
  4. Comply with my legal and other regulatory obligations.
  5. To monitor and record information relating to my services, including my website.

The information required for these purposes is known as your “personal data” and may include your name, home address, email address, telephone and other contact numbers and financial information.

I collect this in a number of ways. For example, you may provide this data to me directly online or over the telephone, or when corresponding with me by letter. Alternatively I will inevitably receive information about you from third parties in fulfilling my obligations to you.

My website is hosted by WordPress.com and when you visit this website, cookies will be used to collect information about you such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and information about your visit. By using this website, you agree to their use. To find out more, including how to control cookies, see here: Cookie Policy. You may view the WordPress.com Privacy Policy, please see here.

I have a mandatory SRA clickable logo in my sidebar. As at 15/11/2019, Yoshki.com state:

“Since introducing the logo on a voluntary basis, some firms have queried how the data, linked to the logo, is being recorded. Google Analytics is used to aid reporting and help understand how many firms are using it and how frequently the logo is being viewed. There is no collection of identifiable data – all IP addresses are automatically anonymised. IP addresses collected by Google are not stored, written to disc or utilised further. And no IP addresses are stored by us or the SRA.

In order to make sure all regulated firms use it on their website because this will help the public understand who is a regulated law firm, and the extra protections this brings, the SRA has agreed to turn off Google Analytics at the moment to make sure that no firms have any residual concerns that would get in the way of implementing the logo.”
